Inquest opens into the death of roofer Grant Maloney who died after falling from ladder in Kings Hill

A roofer who died after falling from a ladder had been working on a friend s property at the time, an inquest has heard.

He was placed on a life support machine which was switched off after doctors realised there was nothing more they could do for the dad-of-seven and grandfather-of-two.
He died surrounded by loved ones who had rushed to his bedside.
During a hearing at County Hall in Maidstone today, coroner Joanne Andrews adjourned the inquest to a full hearing on Tuesday, May 4 at 2pm.

Detectives have cracked a major drugs supply chain after discovering a hidden lock-up and locating more than half-a-million pounds of cocaine and amphetamine.
More than 16 kilograms of the drugs were found by officers when they executed warrants at addresses in Maidstone and West Malling last year.

A much-loved dad died after falling off a ladder and hitting his head while working in Kings Hill.
The daughter of Grant Maloney, 55, from Yalding, paid tribute to her dad, describing how family meant everything to him .

Mr Maloney, a roofer, fell while working on a house in Orient Court on Thursday, January 21 and was airlifted to King s College Hospital but never regained consciousness.
The dad-of-seven and grandfather-of-two died surrounded by relatives who had rushed to his bedside.
