Ciaran wins writing contest and book token Last year, Montgomery residents were invited to enter a writing competition asking them to share their thoughts on living through the lockdown. The winner of the junior entry was announced this week as Ciaran Taylor and he received a book token from Eaves and Lord bookshop, together with a cash prize from Montgomery’s postmistress, Denice Jaunzens who organised the competition. All the stories will be made available to read on the Montgomery Wales website, and the winners of the adult category will be announced and published shortly. Lymore Hall history appeal Having written an initial summary of the history of Lymore Hall for The Crier newsletter’s Faces and Places feature, Montgomery resident Oliver Lewis has decided to progress his research to an extended booklet, ‘A Brief and Interesting History of Lymore Hall.’
