The No. 8 Oregon Women’s Basketball team (5-0) defeated the No. 15 Oregon State Beavers (3-2) by a score of 79 to 59 in Corvallis.
Freshman Te-Hina Paopao and Junior Taylor Mikesell put on a spectacular show, scoring 22 and 21 points, respectively. Though they were the only two Ducks to score in the double digits, Oregon’s tenacious defense resulted in a quick lead that the Beavers were unable to overcome.

Paopao recorded her third consecutive game scoring at least 13 points and also reached a new career high. She finished 9-of-15 from the floor and helped maintain a high-pace offensive attack that buried the Beavers early.
West Seattle High School graduate Nate Pryor enjoyed a busy week playing for the University of Washington men s basketball team including his first start in a 73-41 win over Seattle University last Wednesday.
Aside from scoring 11 points with five rebounds and four assists, he also came through with two steals and blocked one shot.
Pryor did not start Saturday s game against Oregon, but still played 32 minutes, 36 seconds off the bench in a 74-71 loss.
Pryor scored four points in that outing along with three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
West Seattle graduate Lydia Giomi hit one point and hauled down two rebounds as the No. 8-ranked University of Oregon women s basketball team defeated rival Oregon State University by a 79-59 score Sunday.
