Families of those who lost their lives and some of those injured during the Bhisho Massacre 30 years ago, had to be persuaded to attend the annual commemoration event on Wednesday because the government was being so slow in addressing some of their challenges.
Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Bhisho Massacre when 29 people were gunned down in cold blood by soldiers of the then Ciskei Defence Force, while hundreds more were injured.
