View Comments Black Voters Matter and their signature Blackest Bus in America will swing through Alabama on Saturday to celebrate and of course, educate, voters on the John R. Lewis Advancement Act Day of Action. The day of action seeks to honor the legacy of the late civil rights activist and Congressman John Lewis, as well as publicize the bill it s named for, also known as HR 4. A measure that intends to restore key parts of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that protected voters from racial discrimination and intimidation and removed following a 5-4 Supreme Court Decision in 2013.  The tour kicks off at 1 p.m. outside the historic Brown Chapel in Selma at 410 Martin Luther King Street where the march for voting rights was launched.
