Tyler Huang, owner of Queertique in downtown Palm Springs, is doing what he can to encourage
his shop employees and customers to wear masks indoors even if they re vaccinated against COVID-19. His main reason? Because breakthrough cases among vaccinated individuals are possible.
He knows that reality first-hand: Huang was one of several people who fell ill with COVID-19 after a recent business trip to Provincetown, Massachusetts, where an outbreak of hundreds of infections, even among fully vaccinated individuals, occurred last month.
Following several public events between July 3 and 17 in Provincetown, 469 COVID-19 cases were found among Massachusetts residents, and 346 (74%) were among fully vaccinated individuals, according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report.
