Christ Tiehi netted a 91st-minute equaliser to deny the Blues all three points as Town and Rotherham United drew 2-2 at the New York Stadium. Sam Nombe gave the Millers the lead in the fourth minute but skipper Sam Morsy levelled with a brilliant strike on 19. Town looked to have won it when Jack Taylor scored three minutes from the end but Tiehi struck back in injury time to claim a share of the points for the South Yorkshiremen.
Sub Marcus Harness scored twice as the Blues came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Birmingham City, extending their club record unbeaten league away run to 16 matches. The home side took the lead in the 13th minute via Jay Stansfield and were the better side in the first half, however, the Blues improved after the break, but went two behind on 51 when Cameron Burgess diverted a cross into his own net. Town looked set for the first away defeat of the season until Harness came off the bench to net on 79 and 89 to claim a point with another sub Dane Scarlett playing a part in both goals.
Town made it 11 wins out 13 since their return to the Championship after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Plymouth Argyle at Portman Road. Morgan Whittaker gave the visitors the lead in the seventh minute but otherwise the Blues dominated the first half and levelled in injury time through a Bali Mumba own goal. George Hirst made it 2-1 nine minutes after the restart, then sub Marcus Harness made it 3-1 on 86 with keeper Vaclav Hladky having made a number of vital saves, but the Czech was beaten by Joe Edwards in injury time but Town saw out the final minutes to stretch their undefeated run to nine matches.
Town go into the international break second in the Championship following a 4-2 victory over third-placed Preston North End, who they now lead by eight points. Conor Chaplin gave the Blues the lead in the 18th minute, before Mads Frøkjær levelled for the visitors nine minutes later, before Brandon Williams made it 2-1 with a brilliant solo goal and Nathan Broadhead netted a third in injury time. Town made a slow start to the second half and Lilywhites’ sub Ben Whiteman pulled a goal back on 52 but Kayden Jackson sealed Town’s ninth win of the season 12 minutes from time as all five subs combined.
