New NC Highway Patrol colonel visits Robeson County © Provided by WPDE Myrtle Beach/Florence The new North Carolina Highway Patrol Colonel Freddy Johnson, Jr. visited the Robeson County Troop B District 7 Annual District Meeting, which was held Tuesday at the Lumbee Tribe Boys & Girls Club in Pembroke, according to a news release. Johnson was sworn in as the new Highway Patrol Colonel in April. Officials said he now oversees the 1,843 Highway Patrol Troopers in North Carolina.  Johnson, who is a Hope Mills Native, said coming to Robeson County is like coming home. He began his career with the Highway Patrol in Robeson County in 1996 and worked there for 14 years.
