Sergeant Mnakwazo Mdoko, 46, and Constable Mninawa Breakfast, 28, were ambushed by a group of suspects while on patrol.
One of the suspects, Mxoleleni Sikhala, who was arrested in connection with both murders, made an appearance in the Blue Downs Magistrate
s Court on Tuesday morning.
Police Minister Bheki Cele visited the families on Tuesday and said more arrests would be made.

CAPE TOWN - The families of two slain police officers have demanded the harshest punishment for their killers, even suggesting the death penalty.
Sergeant Mnakwazo Mdoko and Constable Mninawa Breakfast were patrolling in Bloekombos on Sunday when they were ambushed and shot dead.
Four men have been taken in for questioning and one of them has already been charged.

“Justice won t bring back my husband, so if someone gets a chance to speak to the guy [who killed my husband] they must let him know that I m broke because of him. I don t have a husband because of him. My child doesn t have a father because of him. Just tell him that,” said Lulamela Breakfast in her home in Langa on Tuesday.
Breakfast had been married to SAPS constable Mninawa Breakfast for four years when she heard the news that he had been killed in the early hours of Sunday morning while on patrol in Bloekombos in Cape Town. Breakfast was the sixth police officer to be murdered in 12 days in SA.
