The ANC in the Eastern Cape on Monday disbanded the Regional Executive Committee of the Amathole Region for ‘defying’ the party’s provincial leadership’.

Suspended ANC Amathole regional secretary Teris Ntutu on Monday evening blasted the party’s provincial executive committee after it decided to disband the region. Provincial secretary Lulama Ngcukayitobi told a virtual press briefing Amathole was suspended for “defying” the party’s provincial leadership directives and for failing “to save itself from itself”.
