Teen and man die in traffic accident | The Guardian Newspaper

Police are investigating a road traffic accident that claimed the life of a teen and man. On Saturday, December 19, at around 8:14 p.m., Ladyville Police responded to an incident on the Boom Road near Gentleville. Upon arriving at the scene, they found two people injured and two other men motionless inside a Ford Ranger pickup truck on the right side of the road when travelling towards Hattieville. Investigations determined that Daniel Barkman, 49, was the driver of the pickup truck. He died on the scene. Accompanying Barkman was identified as Luke Thiessen, 13 who also died on the spot. Admitted to the hospital were 36-year-old Ronald Thiessen and 17-year-old Nathan Neopold Miller.

Siloam Mission says they will be hosting dine-in style meals on Christmas Eve for up to 100 people in its shelter capacity, and serve to-go style meals for many more. Gilbert Fredette, spearheader of Chiefs at Christmas, will be doling out food instead of leading a group of presentations this Christmas at Siloam. While there will not be waiting lists to volunteer or Christmas place settings, Luke Thiessen, the Marketing Co-Ordinator with Siloam Mission says they will have their Christmas feast.

Dec 21, 2020 Mennonite Businessman and Minor Die in Traffic Accident on Boom/Hattieville Road Just after eight o’clock on Saturday night, there was a fatal traffic accident on the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road near the Gentleville community. A Ford Ranger pickup driven at the time by Daniel Barkman collided with a crane sending the pickup truck off the pavement and into a ditch. Barkman and thirteen-year-old Luke Thiessen died on the spot. Fortunately, Ronald Thiessen and Nathan Miller survived the impact and are hospitalized in a stable condition.
