Harrison Phillips, 26, creates a logjam in the middle of the Vikings defensive line, where recent free-agent acquisitions Michael Pierce and Dalvin Tomlinson remain on high-priced veteran contracts.
The Vikings opened free agency by releasing Pierce to help make room for Phillips, the 26-year-old former Bills tackle who started eight games last season.
According to Over The Cap (OTC.com), we currently have 57 players under contract, but I am only counting 56 because Anthony Barr's 2022 and 2023 seasons have been voided, so there is no base salary.
