As we wait to find out what the next step is regarding COVID, the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency, or HIEMA as it is called, continues to draw up plans in
Hawai‘i nonprofits, local governments and other interested parties have until Feb. 16, at 5 p.m. HST to apply for nearly $25 million in grant funding tied to presidential disaster declarations for the COVID-19 pandemic.
For businesses and residents affected by severe storms, flooding and landslides during the “Kona low” weather system that struck Hawai‘i Dec. 5-10, 2021, there are now low-interest disaster loans available from the US Small Business Administration.
Organized by the Hawaiʻi Emergency Management Agency, the teams are expected to visit different sites in Maui County than were viewed during a Dec. 20 assessment targeting damaged highways and other public property.
