A Charlotte woman faces charges following a vehicle crash last month that killed one member of a flag crew working on a Greensboro street and critically injured a second worker.
Traffic control professionals play a critical role in maintaining our nation’s infrastructure. They work on the frontline to protect important construction and utility personnel and ensure motorists travel safely through work zones.
Maryland averages three fatalities per year. These deaths are one too many. Nonfatal worker injuries in work zones nationally range between 860–1,840 a year. Despite the decline in traffic during the pandemic, multiple sources have found that work zone crashes and fatalities increased in 2020 and 2021.
