Luke Laidley, 43, was boating with friends off the 200 block of Sheridan Road early Tuesday afternoon when he noticed that the children appeared to be having problems, officials said.
An Illinois man drowned in Lake Michigan on Tuesday while helping some children who were tubing.He was identified by officials as 43-year-old Luke Laidley of Winnetka, an affluent Chicago suburb.
