Portland, ME (WorkersCompensation.com) - U.S. Acting Secretary of Health and Human Services Norris Cochran has appointed Luis F. Pieretti, PhD, CIH, CSP, WCP® of The MEMIC Group s Loss Control Department to the Board of Scientific Counselors at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He will begin his four-year term on January 1, 2022.
The 15-member board is a federal advisory committee to provide advice on NIOSH s occupational safety and health research and prevention programs. The BSC also provides advice on standards of scientific excellence, current needs in the field of occupational safety and health, and the applicability and dissemination of research findings.
