The worst day of the Covid-19 pandemic in Panama
Panama, Dec 18 (Prensa Latina) Covid-19 has gone up in a dizzying upward spiral in Panama, which experienced on Thursday the worst day of the pandemic so far.
The 42 deaths in the previous 24 hours, along with 3,348 newly infected officially reported, constitute unprecedented figures that reflect a health crisis out of control, also evidenced by the overflow of patients in hospitals, which mostly expanded income capacities but are crowded.
For the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, the light at the end of the tunnel will be the arrival, in the first quarter of 2021, of the initial batches of the vaccine purchased from the US company Pfizer, for whose storage and transfer the Government allocated three million dollars.
