African, Spanish, and Portuguese companies analyzed a series of new business and cooperation opportunities today at INVESTOUR, FITUR.
According to speakers at the INVESTOUR event, African countries can compete with other tourist regions throughout the world if they effectively plan how to integrate tourism into their economies.
In 2013, more than 56 million tourists travelled to Africa, which represents an increase of 5% Revenue from tourism came to around 40,000 million dollars.
In the afternoon session, the participants will embark on a series of Business to Business (B2B) meetings between African companies and institutions and Spanish and Portuguese companies, based on a closed schedule of pre-arranged appointments.
FITUR organized a prize-giving ceremony to hand over the prizes won at the last edition of the Trade Fair. The Tourism Fair took place from January 20-24, 2010. The event was chaired by Antonio Bernabé, managing director of TURESPAÑA; Antonio Nieto Magro, general manager of Tourism for the Madrid Region; and José Manuel Maciñeiras, chairman of the jury for the Best Stand prize. José Mª Álvarez del Manzano, chairman of the executive committee; Luis Eduardo Cortés, chairman of the governing board; Fermín Lucas, managing director of Ifema; and Ana Larrañaga, managing director of FITUR; handed over the prizes.
