Lufkin fire crews extinguish house fire on Pershing Ave. Firefighters give dog found in home oxygen Lufkin Fire VO By KTRE Digital Media Staff | January 5, 2021 at 6:26 PM CST - Updated January 6 at 1:45 AM From the City of Lufkin LUFKIN, Texas (News Release) - At 4:12 p.m., firefighters were called to 414 Pershing Avenue for a structure fire. The homeowner returned from running errands to find that her home was full of smoke. Though she wanted to go inside to look for her dog, the smoke prevented her from doing so. Firefighters arrived on the scene and found visible flames near the back door. They quickly knocked down the flames and began searching the home for the woman’s dog. The dog was found unresponsive a short time later and firefighters gave her oxygen.
