The year 2021 was a rather cranky one for our team! For one, quite some research was cranked out - i.e. published - by team members and for another, a particular Cranky Uncle started to make the rounds throughout the year. As in previous recaps, this one is divided into several sections:
One of the most popular events of Culture Night was MAKING MEDIA WORK FOR YOU: SOCIAL MEDIA WORKSHOP at the Droichead Art Centre with panel, Irish actor and well-known TikTok personality Aisling Kearns as well as writer, arts enthusiast, advocate and former general manager and Head of Marketing at the Gaiety School of Acting Lauren O'Toole, and artist, sculptor and designer Lucy Butler. This initiative and was inspired by the Suggestion Box from our first Artist’s Drop In earlier this year, and places an artist, actor/singer Juliette Crosbie at the core of producing these events. This workshop devised by Juliette is designed for artists of all disciplines to help participants learn engagement tips and tricks and how to make the most effective use of the various social media platforms.
