Park City police blotter: Possible fraudulent rental listing reported

The Park City Police Department last week received a report involving a rental listing that may have been fraudulent. The agency on Wednesday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m., was told of a property on Calumet Circle that had been listed online as a rental. The property, though, belongs to the person who contacted the police, according to department logs. The department listed the case as a citizen assist. Similar cases, though, are sometimes reported as suspected fraud. The logs did not provide details about the listing. The department has long received reports of suspected frauds involving rental listings. In many of the cases, the person files a report with the police prior to losing money in some kind of scheme. In other instances, the person had already sent or wired funds by the time the police were contacted.

Park City police told of dogs falling through ice, other canine problems

The Park City Police Department last week and early in this week responded to a series of canine-related reports, including a incident involving two dogs falling through ice in Park Meadows. The police regularly receive calls about dogs, but a concentrated series of unrelated cases like the recent one is unusual.

Park City police informed of mountain lion sightings, bobcat also seen

The police at 11:51 a.m. on Feb. 20 were told of a mountain lion on a hillside in the vicinity of Thaynes Canyon Drive and Payday Drive, a location close to the Park City Golf Club and Rotary Park. Two days earlier, at 9:13 a.m., a mountain lion was reported on Lucky John Drive close to the Park Meadows Country Club golf course. The animal was crossing a road toward the golf course, the police were told. The mountain lion was seen 30 minutes prior to the call to the police.

Park City police blotter: Agency told of raucous party, yells of chug, chug, chug

The Park City Police Department last week received a report of a party with loud people who were apparently encouraging others to drink alcohol in a manner popular with the collegiate crowd. On Friday, Dec. 4 at 10:50 p.m., the police were told of a party somewhere along Park Avenue. The people were yelling “chug, chug, chug,” the person told the police. There was also loud music. The person who contacted the Police Department said the there was a similar issue the previous night. The police logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.
