TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) The Terre Haute casino project hit another roadblock Tuesday as the Indiana Gaming Commission tabled Lucy Luck Gaming’s financial plan. Commission approval would have allowed the company to move forward with construction plans in the coming months.
During an IGC meeting Tuesday, Lucy Luck representatives told the commissioners that five local banks will finance the $170 million project. They noted the company will create more than 600 permanent jobs once opened.
After reaching a final management agreement with Hard Rock earlier this month, the casino operators hoped for the commission’s approval of the financing plans; however, the local casino license will be up for renewal in just a few weeks. IGC officials decided to table the approval until after the license is renewed.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. The holding company bringing a casino to Terre Haute is separating itself once and for all from any perceived links to a Gary casino and Spectacle Entertainment.
The former Spectacle Jack will now be known as Lucy Luck Gaming to end any confusion that it is tied to their former parent company, Spectacle Entertainment.
Greg Gibson, Lucy Luck Gaming Chairman, said he hopes the new name will end any confusion about the Terre Haute casino project. That spectacle name being associated with both projects, did cause some confusion. I look forward to expanding on the Lucy Luck brand, he said. I think it will be very helpful as we get this project started and move forward. We plan to use the brand to help keep the community abreast about what s happening.
