Major renovations are underway at what will be the new home of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony. WGIL reported in May 2021 that the Galesburg Symphony Society purchased the two properties at 95 and 107 North Seminary Street in downtown Galesburg. 95 Seminary was built in 1932 to house the Knox County Farm Bureau. Next door was The Oil Station, also built in 1932 and was most recently occupied by the Garden Gate. Executive Director Lucas Wood told WGIL when the properties were bought that The Orpheum is still going to be the primary place for KGS performances but this gives the orchestra a place to call "home" for the next generations of classical music lovers. Symphony board members have discussed ways the KGS can become a more sustainable and more inclusive partner in the community.
