Defense comes up with early stops, exchanges big plays with offense during Oregon Ducks’ second spring scrimmage

EUGENE After the offense got the better of the first spring scrimmage, the defense responded early during Oregon’s second spring scrimmage.
Three straight stopped drives, including via an interception by Verone McKinley III, opened Saturday’s scrimmage, held inside at the Moshofsky Center.
“Early the counterpunch was a strong one like a (Mike) Tyson left hook is what it was,” Oregon coach Mario Cristobal said. “Defense came out the first three series and it was hard to move the football. They made some big plays, forced some turnovers.”
