to explain, that could be a lengthy process. brian? reporter: this is day one, to sit through a very large jury pool, a process that could take a few days. mayor sheila dixon walked into courthouse east just before 9:30 this morning. how are you feeling about today? i m good. reporter: saying only she feels good on the first day of her trial. dixon is charged with stealing about $1,500 worth of gift cards meant for the needy and spending them on herself and her family. she will confront seven charges all together ranging from felony theft to misappropriation and misconduct. today was about picking the jury that will make that verdict. potential jurors had to fill out a two-page questionnaire first before going any further. dixon and her attorneys pored over that survey aimed at thinning the large pool throughout the morning. a jury selection judge dennis sweeney says because of the high-profile nature of this case is going to be a challenge. already 21 potential jur
