Netflix YA Vampire Drama First Kill Casts Lead Roles

Netflix has found the lead actresses for its YA vampire series
First Kill.
Imani Lewis and Sarah Catherine Hook will star in the show, which is based on a short story of the same name by Victoria V.E. Schwab. The author is adapting her story with Felicia D. Henderson (
Empire, The Punisher), who will serve as showrunner.
First Kill follows teenage vampire Juliette Fairmont (Hook), who has to claim her first victim in order to take her place in a powerful vampire family. She sets her eyes on Calliope Burns (Lewis), a new girl in town. Calliope, it turns out, is a vampire hunter from a celebrated family of slayers. They each find out that the other won t be easy to kill but far too easy to fall for.

Expect to see more familiar faces from Singapore in future film projects from around the world. Mediacorp announced on Tuesday (Feb 23) that several of its stars are heading to the global stage through a partnership between its artiste management arm, The Celebrity Agency (TCA), and several global talent management companies.

Mia McKenna-Bruce, star of BBC and Netflix series “Get Even,” will headline Ella Greenwood’s “Smudged Smile,” a short film on teenage depression that kicks off a mental health anthology series.
Also starring are Elliot Levey (“Quiz”), Anna Acton (“Brassic”) and Priya Blackburn (“Bohemian Rhapsody”). Greenwood directs from a script by Hannah Westall.
