Since Sunday, scores of chemical containers, plastic droppers, syringes, gloves and samples showing still-legible patient bar codes have been cleared up by concerned residents and lifeguards.
Hazardous medical waste has washed up on Mngcibe and Mdumbi beaches, leading to a warning to beachgoers while authorities remove the waste and track its source.
