BUTUAN CITY - The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Caraga (CIDG-13) has apprehended 40 most wanted persons in the region in a span of two months, from January to February this year. In a statement Monday afternoon, the Police Regional Office in Caraga (PRO-13) noted that CIDG-13 also conducted 290 operations that resulted in the arrest of 298 other wanted persons during the period. PRO-13 director, Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr., also lauded CIDG for its campaign against loose firearms, which resulted in the arrest of 30 suspects and the confiscation and surrender of 111 guns and an explosive. CIDG's campaign against loose firearms in the region also led to the filing of 36 cases in court against violators. From January to March this year, Caramat said CIDG also intensified its campaign against illegal gambling, resulting in the arrest of 247 individuals, the confiscation of PHP114,527 cash used as bets, and the filing of 66 cases in court.
