The African Action Party (AAC) has stated that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party during the 2023 general elections, will be the next person to leave the party after the resignation of Doyin Okupe. The party, in a series of tweets on X platform (formerly Twitter) described Peter Obi and his team as hijackers who only used the party for their personal motives.
Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesman for ex-presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, is always a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP) has said. This was made known by Mr Obiora Ifoh, the LP's National Publicity Secretary, while speaking to Daily Trust on Monday. Recall that Okupe had announced his resignation from the party because he felt he had a different ideology from the party.
