Australia’s Ichthys to ship 120 LNG, 60 condensate cargoes in 2021: Inpex
Japan’s largest upstream company Inpex said Feb. 10 it plans to keep its LNG and condensate shipments from its operated Ichthys project in Australia at a high level in 2021, with the project shipping around 120 LNG cargoes, 36 offshore condensate cargoes and 24 plant condensate cargoes.
The Ichthys project plans to ship 10 LNG cargoes a month in 2021, three cargoes a month of offshore condensate and one or two cargoes a month of plant condensate, an Inpex spokesman told S&P Global Platts.
The Ichthys project’s 2021 planned shipments compare against 2020 shipments of 122 LNG cargoes, 34 offshore condensate cargoes, 22 plant condensate cargoes and 34 LPG cargoes, the spokesman said. The spokesman declined to provide 2021 planned LPG shipments from the project.
ADNOC says several Japanese firms are mulling using Murban futures to price their oil
Abu Dhabi National Oil Co, the UAE’s biggest energy producer, and ICE Futures Abu Dhabi have signed agreements with several Japanese end-users to explore pricing their oil against the Murban futures contract to be launched on March 29, the national oil producer said Jan. 14.
Cosmo Oil Co., a shareholder in Abu Dhabi Oil Co., and other unnamed Japanese end-users signed the agreements during a virtual meeting, ADNOC said in its statement.
Cosmo Oil couldn’t immediately be reached for comment on the matter.
The UAE is Japan’s second-largest crude supplier after Saudi Arabia and Tokyo has a number of stakes in Abu Dhabi’s oil assets.

Italy s Eni and Thailand s PTTEP have been awarded a concession for the UAE s offshore block 3 and will invest some dirhams 1.51bn ($412mn) in exploration, Abu Dhabi s national oil company Adnoc reported on December 21.
The award by Adnoc has been approved by Abu Dhabi s supreme petroleum council (SPC).
