The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong has paid a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty, Nene Sakite II, the Konor of Manya Krobo Traditional Council and the President of Eastern Regional House of Chiefs at his Palace in Odumase on Friday 9th April 2021.
The visit was to formally introduce himself as the newly appointed Regional Minister for the Eastern Region and to solicit support and cooperation from His Royal Majesty Nene Sakite II, his Elders and the people of Kroboland.
In his remarks, the Hon. Seth Acheampong appealed to his Royal Majesty to thank the President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for trust reposed in him to represent him as the Eastern Regional Minister whenever the opportunity availed itself.
NDC protest against 2020 polls hits Lower Manya Krobo
Thousands of aggrieved NDC supporters in the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency of the Eastern Region are protesting against the outcome of the 2020 elections.
According to them, the elections were flawed and rigged by the Electoral Commission in favour of the governing New Patriotic Party.
The Protesters are led by the National Youth Organizer of the party George Opare Addo, the Eastern regional youth Organizer Okai Minta and the constituency Executives of the party.
The Protesters are holding varied placards with distinct inscriptions expressing their displeasure against the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
There is a heavy presence of armed military and police Personnel guarding the protesters.
Pupils in Klo Djekiti appeal for electricity, computer lab

Form Two Junior High School (JHS) students at the Klo Djekiti M/A Basic School in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality are appealing to the government to connect the community to the national grid so they can have electricity to enhance their learning.
Making their appeal in an interview with Ghanaweb s Eastern Regional correspondent, McAnthony Dagyenga, at Klo Djekiti, the pupils also requested for a computer lab in their school to enable them to access practical ICT teaching and learning.
“I am a student in JHS two. We don’t have light here. In the evening we find it difficult to learn. So, we want the government to provide light for us,” 16-year-old Bernice Tetteh said.
Akwatia: NPP to suspend Ama Sey, other loyalists
The Akwatia Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party have announced their intention to sack the outgoing Member of Parliament for the area Mercy Adu Gyamfi alias Ama Sey from the party effective January 7, 2020.
The party has also revealed it will suspend en masse party executives who aided Ama Sey to campaign skirt and blouse votes against NPP candidate Ernest Yaw Kumi leading to his defeat in the just ended parliamentary election.
The NPP lost the Parliamentary seat to the NDC after its Parliamentary Candidate Ernest Yaw Kumi polled 18,742 votes against NDC’s Henry Yiadom Boakye alias Okoyo who garnered 19,899.
