The Kyiv City Council has officially transferred land ownership to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve, reported the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Olenych on Telegram on Feb. 8.
After the start of the full-scale invasion, there have been people who behaved strangely at services and meetings on the monastery's grounds, Acting Abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Archimandrite Abraham said in an interview with RFE/RL project “Skhemy” on Sept. 2.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has equated students and teachers of Kiev Theological Schools with visitors to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and banned access to the territory of the monastery and the buildings of the Kiev Theological Academy and Seminary, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) said.
