UK temperatures could peak at 21C on Thursday. But in mid-November there will be colder days, chilly nights, mist, frost and fog - and snow showers in the north and western parts of the country.

A 27-hour weather warning for rain has been issued for Dorset, with Met Office warning of travel disruption and potential flooding. Dorset has been hit with rain overnight and has continued throughout Wednesday, with more showers on their way. The weather forecaster has issued a yellow weather warning for rain, which will be in force from 12am on Friday, December 18 and 3am on Saturday, December 19. The Met Office said as much as 20 to 30mm of rainfall could be seen during that time with some disruption likely. Key Dorset routes, namely the A35 and A37, are also under this heavy rain warning, with motorists being advised to take care while driving.
