A new proposal has emerged in response to the November 2021 floods that swept Sumas Prairie in the Fraser Valley, British Columbia, causing mass evacuations and millions in damages.
The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District announced the alert expansion to include 33 new properties, with the majority being located on the Sea-to-Sky Highway.
The B.C. River Forecast Centre has issued warnings for the Squamish River and its tributaries, including the Cheakamus River, as well as the Lilloeet River near Pemberton.
