SINGAPORE: A court of five judges on Thursday (Feb 25) grilled lawyers representing Aljunied Hougang Town Council (AHTC) and Sengkang Town Council (SKTC) on their arguments depicting how Workers Party (WP) leaders had breached duties owed to the town council and misused S$33.7 million of town council funds.

SINGAPORE: The Workers Party (WP) announced the appointment holders in its Central Executive Committee (CEC) on Wednesday (Jan 6), after a cadres meeting on Dec 27 that elected five new members to its leadership.
New additions to the committee, such as Sengkang GRC Members of Parliament (MPs) He Ting Ru, Louis Chua, Raeesah Khan and Dr Jamus Lim were given roles as deputies.

Singapore 2020 will go down in history as the year we spent more time at home and online than ever, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic. At this point, we can safely say that 2020 is the year of Workers’ Party chief Pritam Singh, who was designated as the country’s first Leader of the Opposition. The naysayers who once doubted that Mr Singh could fill the spot once held by the venerable Low Thia Khiang must have been eating their words, as the WP Chief has grown in substance this year, with nary a misstep.

SINGAPORE: The new Workers Party (WP) Central Executive Committee (CEC) has a good balance of old and new faces, and threw up few surprises, analysts told CNA.
On Sunday (Dec 27), the opposition party s cadre members elected five new faces to its top leadership while retaining Ms Sylvia Lim as chair and Mr Pritam Singh as secretary-general.
