Loves’ Loss is Levin’s Gain with New Furniture Deal
Robert Levin strikes an arrangement to lease back five former Levin Furniture stores as Michigan-based Loves Furniture & Mattresses exits the Pittsburgh market.

Shortly after Loves Furniture & Mattresses announced last week that it would be exiting Pennsylvania to focus on its core market in Michigan, Levin Furniture revealed it would lease back the three Loves locations around Pittsburgh, as well as locations in Altoona and State College.
All five outlets originally were Levin retail stores and the new deal restores the furniture chain’s original thumbprint in western Pennsylvania.

Levin Furniture & Mattress, a longtime staple along Washington Road, will be moving back into its former location. brothers, John and Matt Schultz, acquired the Levin stores out of bankruptcy.Â
Loves, which went into business only in March, hastily announced on Monday that it was leaving those five locations â all former Levin stores â to focus on its stores in Michigan, where the firm is based. Loves said in a news release that a local company would take over those stores, without identifying that firm.

Value City Furniture hiring 65 new positions at 2 new locations in Southeast Michigan

(WXYZ) â Value City Furniture is opening two new locations in Southeast Michigan and plans on hiring 65 new positions.
New locations in Ann Arbor and Westland are slated to open early March 2021. They will take over two recently closed Loves Furniture locations.
Value City Furniture will be hosting open interviews for 65 new positions to staff these new locations on December 18 in Novi. The open positions include Assistant Manager, Sales Manager, Warehouse and Home Furnishing Consultants.
âWe were saddened to learn that Loveâs was closing some of its doors. This has been a tough time for retailers, especially in the wake of COVID-19,â said John Schottenstein, president of VCF, in a press release. âWhen ArtVan seized operations, we were able to take over six of their former locations across Michigan and retain many of t
