Officers responded to the area of 37th Street and North U.S. 287 Sunday night for reports of a shooting in progress, according to a post on the Loveland Police Department Facebook Monday morning. Multiple officers from surrounding agencies responded to the area but quickly determined it to be a swatting incident; swatting is a type of harassment where someone calls 911 to make a false report of an active emergency such as a shooting, according to the post.
If residents see Justin Munson, the LPD has urged residents to not approach or attempt to contact him and instead call 911. Anyone with information or leads on Munson has been asked to call the LPD tip line at 970-962-2032 or Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868.
"Something small from us ended up making the biggest difference to him," LPD Officer Mariah Kroschel wrote in an email to the Reporter-Herald. "Knox’s only wish is if someone does find his bike, that we donate it to the next child who has their bike stolen. I think that says a lot about the kind of kid he is."
