Get Discounted Beer for a Good Cause at Backyard Tap on May 29
Since its inception, the Grace Upon Grace Project has strived to provide underserved families with diapers, wipes and period products in order to help them live and grow with grace and dignity.
Now, the Northern Colorado non-profit is teaming up with the Backyard Tap to raise awareness about period poverty an issue that affected one in four people in the last year alone.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday (May 29), attendees can bring unopened packages of period products to the Backyard Tap to receive $1 off their first alcoholic beverage. On top of helping the community, guests will get to enjoy live music, food trucks, local beer and raffles.
The Northern Colorado area has long been familiar with Vets4Life, an organization that was known for empowering local veterans and their families through a variety of community-based programs.
Now, the non-profit has rebranded to become Health4Heroes. Despite a new name, the mission of the organization remains the same except that it now includes first responders. We used to be Vets4Life, serving only veterans and their families, said Mary Scott, co-founder and vice-chairman of Health4Heroes, in our Tuned In to NoCo interview. And that was a mission that we were very dedicated to, but we decided to kind of step up to an even greater responsibility, in light of some recent decisions and observations out in the community and in our country, to really support the veterans, but also the first responder community and their families.
We are all very thankful for every person serving, or that has served, in the United States Armed Forces. Here's a great story of a Windsor sailor's success.
