Asiahn Releases New EP The Interlude

Bold, boundary-pushing R&B singer/songwriter Asiahn (pronounced “Ahh-zee-yahn”) returns with her Since the 80s and Motown debut with her new EP, The Interlude, a five-song set was a conscious effort to broaden her horizons. Departing from the lovesick, sensual songs that have shined through much of her catalog, this release centers itself on the period of self-discovery and growth that comes after one relationship’s end and before another’s beginning. “It’s important that as an artist I not only sing about love,”Asiahn says. “There’s more to life than just being in a relationship and falling in and out of love with others, we also have to fall in love with ourselves and discover what we like and don’t like, explore our sexuality, get drunk and have fun! We have to live!”

Beaver County s jazzy-soul saxophonist still jammin’ at age 90 Timothy Cox Today, the man known as Aliquippa s jazzy-soul saxophonist celebrates his 90th birthday. Though several of his contemporaries have earned their way into rock n roll heaven, Charles Sonny Childs is the Georgia-born musician that continues to enjoy onstage performances and staying in tune with his tenor saxophone. Childs like Peach State notables James Brown, Little Richard, Ray Charles and Otis Redding were reared among those pine trees made famous by Charles version of the song Georgia. Childs is enjoying his ninth decade as a working musician. And importantly, while blessed with good health, Childs said he has no plans to end his show.

Catching up with Rare Experience — Aliquippa s most successful R&B band

In the early 1970s, young aspiring Black musicians were scattered throughout Beaver County, western Pennsylvania and, of course, the entire greater Pittsburgh region. This was an era when they targeted their passions and concentrated on becoming the area’s premier musicians. Unlike today s counterparts, yesterday’s young were not fixed on becoming top videogame rompers. Instead, good musicianship provided a viable alternative to youngsters who may have failed on the hoop court, gridiron or simply lacked athletic prowess. In Beaver County, the probability of becoming a professional musician was a devout reality, whereas so was becoming a professional athlete considering the acclaim of Hopewell Township’s Anthony “Hawk” Dorsett, Aliquippa’s Mike Ditka and Beaver Falls’ Joe Willie Namath. In music, Beaver Valley Musician Union Hall of Famers Henry Mancini and the Steals brothers, Melvin and Mervin, also come to mind.

The Musicians Who Demanded Trump Stop Playing Their Music in 2020

The Musicians Who Demanded Trump Stop Playing Their Music in 2020 28 Dec 2020 This year, President Donald Trump was confronted by more than a dozen musicians and bands with demands that he stop using their music at his rallies and events. The attacks by left-wing artists and other apolitical musicians started the minute Trump began holding rallies after he came down from Trump Tower to announce he was running for president in June of 2015. Before that year closed, then candidate Trump was assailed by rock star Steven Tyler and his band, Aerosmith, for using songs including “Dream On,” and “Living on the Edge.” But the hits just kept on rolling with artists including Adele, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Neil Young, and even representatives for the Beatles, all of whom demanded that Trump pull their music from his events.
