Tangra Blues follows two people who go through various highs and lows of life, wrestling with the memories of the past and struggles of the present to create a foundation for a hopeful future. Parambrata and Madhumita play the protagonists of the film along with Saimul Alam, Oishani Dey and Atmadeep Ghosh.

Two Bengali films are slated to hit theatres this Christmas. Baghini, which was slated to be released four years back, is inspired by the life and struggle of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, but it is not a biopic.
Baghini maker Nehal Dutta said he was happy the film was being released finally and urged people to see it for cinematic reasons, saying it has nothing to do with politics.
Mainak Bhaumik directorial Cheeni is also releasing on December 24.
While Baghini stars Ruma Chakraborty, a popular jatra actor who also acted in many Bengali films, Cheeni stars Aparajita Adhya, Saurav Das, newcomer Madhumita Sarkar among others.

When it comes to her career, Madhumita Sarcar believes in waiting it out for the right script and concept. A darling of the television world, Madhumita moved to films to explore uncharted territories and do something different. “People already have a lot of expectations, those who have seen me on television. I think that image is stuck in their minds and they love me like that. But I didn’t want to carry that image in films. I started reading a lot of books and attending workshops and watching a lot of films,” she had told us earlier.
