Today. The United States has imposed new sanctions on iran to punish it for a recent Ballistic Missile test, and for what was described as tehrans continued support for terrorism. The measures target 12 companies and 13 individuals in iran and elsewhere. Iran said the sanctions breached the un deal under which it agreed to curb its nuclear programme. The white house spokesman, sean spicer, said President Trump was determined to keep iran in check. These sanctions really represent a very very strong stand against the actions that iran has been taking, and make it very clear that the deal that was struck previously was not in the best interests of this country, and that President Trump is going to do everything he can to make sure iran stays in check. These kind of sanctions dont happen quickly. But i think the timing of them is clearly in reaction to what weve seen, you know, over the last couple of days.
