Victoria Atkins MP, Member of Parliament for Louth & Horncastle
The Brexit trade deal was passed by MPs yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) and will come into force when the transition period formally ends at 11pm tonight.
Ms Atkins said: “The deal, secured by the Prime Minister on 24th December, ensures control of our laws, borders, money, trade and fisheries – and ends any role for the European Court of Justice.
“This historic moment delivers the final part of the Conservative Party’s promise to the country at the 2019 General Election to “Get Brexit Done”.
“The deal is the first free trade agreement the EU has ever reached based on zero tariffs and zero quotas, bringing benefits for families and businesses across the UK.
