For Marie Torosian, director of Three Chiefs Cultural Center in Pablo, hope rises from ashes. It lives in every moccasin, headdress, beaded bag or vest that survived the arson-caused fire that demolished the People’s Center Sept. 6, 2020.

ST. IGNATIUS â After a few moving-in hiccups, the Peopleâs Center is now open in its new location in the former Doug Allard restaurant at the Allard Stage Stop complex on Highway 93. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.Â
Presently the gift shop is the only section open, but work is continuing on setting up the gallery and education wings. The gift shop is not fully stocked yet but its manager Loushie Charlo is working to upstock its inventory. Despite that there are many items available for purchase.
Peopleâs Center Manager Marie Torosian said Geri Hewankorn is presently working on getting the gallery ready, then work will begin on the education arm, staffed by Aggie Incashola.
