Russel Hitchcock and Graham Russell formed Air Supply after they met, performing in an Australian production of
Jesus Christ Superstar. They took on other band members, who are credited on their early albums and appear on the covers, but eventually pared down to a duo. At the start, the band were always in the photos, and shared in everything. However, there were starting to be small squabbles within the band, so they decided it was time to become a duo.
Lost In Love was a hit in Australia, but the record company was reluctant to release it in the US. Fortunately, someone heard it and decided it was certainly worth hearing. It became a hit, and let to a total of eight top 5 hits in the US and Canada. They continue to perform, and enjoy substantial popularity in South Asia, where they are big favorites in Karaoke bars. A soft rock sound that helped shape a decade. Air Supply is the Lounge Artist of the Week.
