TRAFFIC IS MOVING SMOOTHLY BUT OFFICIALS ARE ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS WINDOW OF TIME TO PREPARE FOR WHAT MAY BE AHEAD. OLD MAN WINTER HAS BEEN NO STRANGER TO OUR AREA THIS YEAR, BUT IT’S BEEN SOME TIME SINCE THERE HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT THREAT OF ICE ICE IS JUST ONE OF THE BIGGEST THREATS TO AND TO OUR SYSTEM RIGHT NOW LG&E CRUISE AS WELL AS ITS CONTRACT PARTNERS ARE ON STANDBY FOR POTENTIAL WIDESPREAD OUTAGES DUE TO ICE SO YOU SEE THE ICE AS IT ACCUMULATES IT WEIGHS DOWN TREE BRANCHES AND LIMBS. THOSE HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO EITHER DROOP OR BREAK OFF COMPLETELY AND WHEN THEY DO THAT THEY CAN TAKE OUR POWER LINES WITH THEM. THEY’RE ASKING PEOPLE
