5/5/2021 Lincoln’s 2021 road projects announced A large segment of Cobble Hill Road will be repaved this spring/early summer. (Breeze photo by Nicole Dotzenrod) LINCOLN – Several streets in Lincoln are ready to be repaved this season. Most significantly, Cobble Hill Road will be completely reclaimed and reconstructed, from the Lincoln/Pawtucket line to Francis Avenue. Town Engineer Leslie Quish said the state of the pavement after Francis Avenue is in “much better condition,” and that Cobble Hill turns into a state road a bit further on before it intersects with Old Louisquisset Pike. “We’ve done that particular section before, but this is a road that experiences frequent potholes. The Department of Public Works is constantly over there,” said Quish. “This will be a much needed-improvement for that road.”

(Breeze photo by Lauren Clem) NORTH SMITHFIELD – When Michael Mongeon first bought the property at 199 Eddie Dowling Highway in 2010, he said, the backyard was a grassy area, and the tenants who lived there liked to play badminton outside. Since then, it’s become a swamp where cattails and other wetland vegetation have taken over the property right up to the back door. “When I got this property, the whole backyard was grass. Now, you can’t walk out there without sinking a foot into the mud,” he said during a visit to the home last week.
