number of the rescues and evacuations have been happening. deteriorating conditions on the ground in texas. blake, what s the situation like where you are? we re near the louisiana border. this is part of the state that was hit with the third landfall, the last part of the state to get hit. and there s a lot of water on the ground. sun is out, water is going down, we re talking about three feet, four feet in some places. people can t get back to their homes. people who chose not to evacuate are getting nervous, even though water is not going up, they ve been stuck in their homes several days and are calling rescue crews to get them out. we have seen at least one military helicopter hover over an apartment complex, pull a half dozen people out of that complex. keep in mind in storms like this, we hear it all the time, people are told to have three days of food and water. this storm was so prolonged, lot of people are out of food and water, even if they prepared
