CANBERRA, July 13 (Xinhua) Leading epidemiologists have called for Australia to adopt a national approach to fighting the Delta variant of COVID-19.
Mary-Louise McLaws, an epidemiologist who is a member of the World Health Organization s COVID-19 response team, said that relying on states and territories to suppress outbreaks of COVID-19 was putting the rest of Australia at risk.
She is one of a group of experts who have called for the federal government to implement national guidelines on when public health measures should be introduced to contain all new variants of coronavirus.
