The Big Takeover: Toni Halliday – Roll The Dice EP (EMI Production Music)

The surprise resurfacing of Toni Halliday is always a welcome thing, even if the music doesn’t hold a candle to her spellbinding vocals. The British singer and songwriter made her mesmerizing mark in the ‘90s as one half of acclaimed guitar-, electro-, and beats-driven alternative music duo Curve (with musical mastermind Alan Moulder on production duties). A detailed Biography and Discography of Curve’s work can be found in my A Guide To The Recordings Of… Curve at this site. Detailed information about Toni Halliday’s other musical collaborations during and after Curve can be found in my Whatever Happened To Toni Halliday Of Curve? at The Record Stache.

Sir Alex Ferguson has won his latest planning war

Sir Alex Ferguson has won his latest planning war with his neighbours over their bid to build two luxury mansions across the road from his £2.3million home in Cheshire. The former Manchester United manager, 79, objected to a proposal for two five-bedroom properties to be built on his street in Wilmslow, describing the plans as astonishing and damaging to the character of the area.  Cheshire East Council has now refused planning permission for the houses and said they would not be in keeping with the surrounding area.  The application, which was submitted by local building firm Henderson Homes, was for two luxury homes with balconies to replace a rundown 1930s property.
