SANTA Claus has brought “lots of smiles and happiness” to Haddington following a u-turn by East Lothian Council. The town’s community council has organised a Santa’s Sleigh around the town for a number of years, with Haddington Rotary Club now taking on the reins. However, with coronavirus restrictions, it looked as if Santa would be grounded for the festive season. Fortunately, the decision was reconsidered and the festive VIP was able to tour the town on the afternoon of Sunday, December 20. Louise Begbie, community co-ordinator with the Rotary club, offered her thanks to East Lothian Council for allowing the event to go ahead.
